Problem
What is the first thing you do when you are diagnosed with an illness?
That’s right. You turn to Google!
But how do you know if what you find is reliable and relevant?
And how does your doctor react when you take all your print-outs to the consultation?
This leads to frustration on both sides.
Patients want to be involved
Research shows that 80% of all patients want to receive more information about their options from their doctor.
70% of all patients want to be more involved when making a medical decision.
Our solution
At the ZorgKeuzeLab we develop decision aids that support doctors and patients when choosing the appropriate treatment. We have developed our first decision aid for the advanced stage of Parkison’s disease with UMC St. Radboud.

Our dream
This is just the first step. Our dream is to build a platform that supports all major chronic diseases. Together these involve 4,1 million patients in The Netherlands, that are treated in 90 hospitals.
Our team
I’m Regina The and together with Klemens we have founded the ZorgKeuzeLab. We are both graduates from TU Delft with 8 years of working experience in Service Design. As a mother of a son with asthma I how important it is to be well prepared for a consultation.
Insights
A key insights is that healthcare cost have doubled over the past 12 years.
One of the reasons is low patient compliance.
For instance in a chronic disease like asthma 55% of parents stop with medication in the first year, leading to unncessary complications that are much more expensive to treat. All because the parents were not well involved when choosing the treatment.
